ADAPT IT

Your own routine

Combining an office day and a Pilates class mostly means planning the transitions: what you can wear at work, your route, the changing facilities and what comes after class. The same arrangement will not suit every day.

Here are three strategies to combine around your plans. You can keep some pieces on between the office and studio, or pack a complete change. What matters is having tried the outfit and allowing realistic time for travel, arrival and the journey afterwards.

01

1. Choose your outfit around the day

Start with your workplace dress code and what feels comfortable during the day. Wearing some pieces in both settings may suit you; changing completely at the studio is an equally valid option. Check the available facilities and pack items in the order you will use them.

YOUR BOTTOMS

The base of your outfit: Choose bottoms you have already tried, then compare options for a first Pilates class or for mat Pilates and Reformer. If your workplace allows it, you can wear those bottoms with a shirt or jumper during the day. Otherwise, pack them with your class outfit and change at the studio.

SPORTS BRA AND TOP

The sports bra and top: Check the fit of your sports bra and how the combination feels sitting and moving. Wear it all day only if that suits you; packing an alternative also lets you choose office clothing separately from your class outfit.

THE CHANGING ROOM

The changing room: Ask about changing facilities, storage and the recommended arrival time. Unbutton, fold and put pieces away in an order you find practical, without setting yourself a changing deadline.

2. Pack your bag in the order you will use it

Choose an everyday bag in which you can easily find your planned items. Our Pilates bag guide helps you select essentials around your day. An extra pouch may be enough if the bag has no compartments; adapt the arrangement to what you already own.

POINT 01

The items to find when you arrive

Place the items requested by the studio somewhere easy to find. A small pouch or the top of the bag is enough: keep the arrangement simple to prepare and reset after class.

THE REQUIRED SOCKS

The requested socks: Confirm the type required by the studio. If grip socks are requested, check that the chosen design explicitly states that feature; sports socks do not automatically have it.

PLANNED ACCESSORIES

Useful accessories: Bring what the studio requests or what you already use during that class. Gloves are not a default purchase for a first session: ask the studio what is appropriate for your class.

YOUR HAIR TIE

A hair tie or headband: If you use one, keep it within reach. Choose what remains comfortable, including when your head rests on the mat, rather than adding an accessory simply to fill the bag.

POINT 02

Clean clothes for your next plans

If you are changing before your next appointment, keep those clothes in a separate part of your bag. Select what you will actually use rather than bringing a complete kit to every class.

POINT 01

A fresh top if you want to change after class, chosen for the appointment or journey that comes next.

POINT 02

Any fresh underwear and socks you need, grouped together so you do not have to search when dressing.

POINT 03

A towel if needed or requested and a separate pocket or pouch for used items. Check what the studio provides before filling your bag.

POINT 03

Separate used items from the rest of the bag

Use a separate pouch or bag for worn clothes and shoes, according to your needs. Keep the clean outfit apart. Our guide to a light jacket or sweatshirt after a workout helps you choose a return layer for the weather and journey.

3. Allow for travel and changing

Before booking the time slot, allow for the class’s stated duration, travel, the arrival time requested by the studio and changing. If you want to use a shower, check availability. Leave a margin that suits your route and your plans.

BEFORE LEAVING

Before leaving the office: Check the route and time. If you are new, explore our first-class guide, then prepare useful accessories according to the studio’s instructions. For an item such as VEGA gloves, read the product details and confirm with the studio if you plan to use them.

AFTER CLASS

After class: Use the time you allowed to collect your belongings and change if you wish. Pack used items separately, then check you have picked up your personal effects before leaving.

BEFORE YOUR NEXT PLANS

Before your next plans: Put on the outfit chosen for your next appointment or add the layer planned for your journey. Keep class items separate until you reach home, then empty the bag and follow each garment’s care instructions.

04

An approach to adjust to your own routine

After the first attempt, note what was missing and what stayed unused in the bag. Adjust the clothing, packing and time allowed for your next Pilates day. An arrangement you can easily repeat is more useful than a complicated list or a transition that has to fit into a few minutes.
