MINTAKA is the hooded windbreaker you wear from the studio to the subway, from your Sunday jog to the market. A deep hood that really covers, an extended length that goes over the top of your leggings, tightly woven polyamide that cuts the wind without stifling — 200 grams of fabric for four transitional seasons. More casual than its sister ANTARES, more versatile in the city, MINTAKA is the outer layer you grab without thinking before heading out.

Galaya Sculpt Fabric
MINTAKA is part of the Galaya outerwear collection, designed with the same high-performance standards as the Galaya Sculpt™, adapted for windbreaker functionality. The polyamide is tightly warp-woven to block the wind while allowing the skin to breathe during exertion. The feel is smooth, slightly satiny, and clean to the eye. The hood, hems, and zipper are crafted with neat technical finishes — no added lining, no plastic membrane, a durable single-layer piece.
- Composition: 100% POLYAMIDE
- Weight: optimized for lightweight, wind-resistant, and opaque
- Fabric: tightly woven polyamide, wind-resistant, lightly water-repellent, quick-drying
- OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified (absence of harmful substances)
- BSCI social audit (verified working conditions in the factory)
Fit & Sizing
On the model — The model is 1.75 m tall, wears size S, and is wearing size S. The fit is snug but not tight, sleeve to wrist, length just above mid-buttock.
Sizing advice — True-to-size athleisure fit, a bit more relaxed than ANTARES. Take your usual size for the expected effect. If you want to wear it over a thick sweatshirt or as a major layer, go up one size. For broad shoulders, it's better to go up one size to maintain comfort during arm movement.
Care
- Machine wash at maximum 30°C, delicate cycle
- Gentle detergent — never use fabric softener (it clogs technical fibers)
- Air dry — never tumble dry
- No dry cleaning or bleach
Polyamide dries very quickly: hung on a thick hanger, MINTAKA is ready in 2-3 hours. Avoid fabric softener, which clogs the fabric's pores and impairs water repellency. Washed reasonably (1 wash every 4 to 6 wears), it retains its clean appearance and technical qualities over several seasons.
Create your look
MINTAKA is the urban transition jacket that goes from leggings to straight-leg jeans, from a running session to a post-class coffee. The hood makes it a companion for unpredictable Parisian weather.
- ZANIA Leggings (mid-season studio-to-city)
- DENEB Joggers (cozy weekend look)
- SPICA Sweatshirt (warm cotton layering)
- ANTARES Windbreaker (hoodless alternative)
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the hood really stay on your head?
Yes — this is the point we worked on the most. The hood is deep, sized to cover the neck to the forehead without slipping. Its structure is held by seams, not by a visible drawstring, which preserves the jacket's clean lines. In strong crosswinds, it may move slightly; in head-on or vertical wind (light rain), it stays in place.
What's the difference between this and ANTARES, the hoodless windbreaker?
ANTARES has a more athletic, close-fitting cut, dedicated to performance running — more aerodynamic for fast strides. MINTAKA is slightly looser, longer, and its hood makes it more versatile for urban lifestyle. If you're primarily looking for a running jacket, get ANTARES. If you want a versatile piece for studio-to-city, walking, and occasional running, MINTAKA is more versatile.
Is it waterproof?
MINTAKA has light water repellency — water beads up for a few minutes in drizzle — but it's not waterproof. It effectively protects against light rain, urban drizzles, and brief showers thanks to its hood, but for sustained rain or planned storms, prefer a jacket with a waterproof membrane. Its primary purpose is wind resistance and water repellency.
What temperature is it suitable for?
For static urban use and walking, MINTAKA is comfortable between 8°C and 17°C. For sustained running, the wind-resistant fabric lowers your comfort threshold by 2-3 degrees (ideal between 5°C and 14°C). Below 5°C, add a thermal layer underneath. Above 18°C, the jacket might be too warm during exertion — that's when it's time to fold it up.
How do I know if my size is correct?
The shoulders should sit just at the edge of the shoulder bone, without extending beyond. The sleeve covers the wrist with arms extended. The hood, when folded down, rests without tension on the back. The length goes just above mid-buttock. If the hood pulls back when walking, it's one size too big. If it pulls the collar up, it's too small.
Can it be worn with jeans for a lifestyle look?
Yes. The neutral palette (black, ivory, blue, lavender) and sober cut make it compatible with straight-leg jeans, wide-leg dress pants, or a denim midi skirt. The hood adds a casual touch that takes the piece out of a strictly sporty context. This is the advantage of premium sportswear: the jacket integrates into a lifestyle wardrobe without signalling pure sport.
How to care for the windbreaker?
Wash at max 30°C in a mesh bag to protect the zipper and hood seams. Do not use fabric softener — it clogs the fibers and reduces water repellency. Air dry on a wide hanger, never tumble dry. No hot iron or dry cleaning. Polyamide requires no ironing: it smooths out by itself when worn. Store suspended, ideally inside a well-ventilated wardrobe.
Does it fold into a bag?
Yes. The hood folds flat, the jacket folds in quarters and rolls up tightly — you get a volume of about 14 × 7 cm, which fits into an urban backpack or fanny pack. Tightly woven polyamide does not wrinkle permanently: take it out, shake it, and it regains its shape in a few seconds, without ironing.
Is the fabric certified free of harmful substances?
Yes. The polyamide is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified — a protocol that excludes over 350 concerning chemical substances (heavy metals, formaldehyde, phthalates, azo dyes, certain water-repellent treatments). Important for a jacket worn for several hours in contact with the skin of the neck, wrists, and face (via the hood).
What's the difference between this and a Lululemon Cross Chill or a Nike Windrunner?
The Lululemon Cross Chill is very versatile but at a significantly higher price. The Nike Windrunner is iconic and high-performing, with a more pronounced sporty style. MINTAKA arbitrates: an editorial athleisure cut that works in the city, a refined palette (4 well-thought-out colors), a functional deep hood, OEKO-TEX certification, and a reasonable price point for the premium segment.
